Accreditation doesn’t need to start with policies and paperwork
Most established allied health practices are already doing many things well.
The challenge is knowing:
- what the Standards actually require
- what systems your practice already has
- where the gaps are
- what evidence you may need
- who should take responsibility
- how to prepare without overwhelming your team
PracPlus turns the Standards into practical steps designed for real allied health practices.
Designed for allied health and community healthcare practices
The Standards apply to a wide range of primary and community healthcare settings in Australia, such as:
Physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteopathic practices
Occupational therapy, speech pathology and podiatry
Psychology, counselling and social work
Dentistry, dental hygiene and dental therapy
Dietetics, nutrition and exercise physiology
Optometrists, Orthoptists, Pedorthists, Art and Music therapists
Community health centres and multidisciplinary primary care services

What the Standards cover
The National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards provide a nationally consistent framework for safe and high-quality primary and community health care.
They cover three major areas:
Clinical governance
How your practice leads, manages, monitors and continually improves safety and quality.
Partnering with consumers
How patients are involved in decisions about their own care and in improving healthcare services.
Clinical safety
How your practice identifies and manages important clinical risks.
PracPlus helps translate these requirements into practical systems that make sense in an allied health environment.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE BEHIND PRACPLUS
Created by a practice owner who has been through accreditation
PracPlus was founded by Dr John Petrozzi PhD, an allied health practitioner (chiropractor), clinician-researcher and practice owner with more than 28 years’ experience in private allied health practice.
John holds a PhD in chronic musculoskeletal pain from the University of Sydney, along with qualifications in chiropractic and health informatics. His career spans clinical practice, research, allied health leadership and healthcare governance.
Â
Most importantly, John and his team have taken his own multidisciplinary allied health practice, Body Mind Central, through the accreditation journey successfully achieving accreditation to the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards. PracPlus grew from that experience: turning what John learned into a practical pathway to help other allied health practice owners understand the Standards, strengthen their systems and prepare confidently for accreditation.
